This Truth Unit aims to teach students ways to think critically - real ways to find the what is true across the community and the internet. This is a very important skill in todays world with social media and influencers having so much influence on information.
Β It includes a Truth Project that will take some time but will be worthwhile to initiate.
To Start the Unit:

Explanations/Summaries of each slide for teachers
Narration Suggestions - what you can say to present each slide
Open-ended Questions - questions you can ask to assess understanding
Class activities linked to the slides and to the student Worksheet aimed at engaging your class in the concepts
Download the Student Worksheet - it includes a slide guide and all of the activities that ar elinked to your Teacher Guide.Β
Have the students complete the class activities as they follow you through your presentation.

This research project challenges students to become Critical Truth Detectives by investigating real misinformation about Indigenous communities, your own culture, and Sandy Lake First Nations specifically.Β
